Effective Date: May 2026
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Contact information: name, firm name, email address, phone number submitted through the website contact form
- Matter information: estate or matter name, type of engagement, device or asset description provided at intake
- Case correspondence: communications related to active engagements
- Password recovery intake: when we assist with wallet recovery for a decedent's estate, personal recollections about the decedent — such as names, dates, places, and password habits — provided by a family member or other authorized person through our secure intake form, used solely to help reconstruct a wallet password. These responses are encrypted on the sender's own device before they are transmitted to us (see Sections 5 and 6).
Information collected automatically
- Basic website analytics: pages visited, time on site, referring URL, browser type — collected only if analytics are enabled
- No tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party tracking technology is used on this website
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide solely to:
- Assess whether Trust Forensics' services are appropriate for your matter
- Conduct the investigation or recovery engagement you have retained us for
- Communicate with you and your counsel about the engagement
- Deliver findings reports and engagement documentation
- Comply with applicable legal requirements
We do not sell, rent, license, or share your information with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes. We do not use your information to train machine learning models or artificial intelligence systems.
3. Engagement Confidentiality
All matter information, device contents, wallet data, and findings are treated as strictly confidential. Trust Forensics does not discuss, disclose, or reference any client engagement without explicit written consent. Findings reports are delivered only to the retaining attorney or fiduciary.
4. Data Retention
- Engagement records (scope, fees, findings reports, signed agreements): retained for five years
- Device forensic images and working copies: securely destroyed on engagement close using media sanitization consistent with NIST SP 800-88 — overwriting for magnetic media, and cryptographic erasure or device-native secure erase for solid-state and encrypted storage
- Private keys and wallet credentials: never retained beyond the moment of transfer
- Password recovery intake submissions: retained only for the duration of the active engagement and permanently deleted when the matter is closed
- Contact form submissions: retained for six months, then deleted
5. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect engagement data, including encrypted storage for all sensitive case files (enabling cryptographic erasure on destruction), offline handling of all wallet credentials and private keys, and secure destruction of all digital copies on case close consistent with NIST SP 800-88. Our password recovery intake form encrypts each submission on the sender's own device using public-key cryptography; submissions can be opened only with an offline private key held solely by Trust Forensics, so their contents are not readable in transit, by email providers, or by any third party. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
6. Third-Party Services
- Formspree: processes contact form submissions. Data passes through Formspree's servers and is subject to their privacy policy.
- Password recovery intake form: does not use any third-party form processor. Submissions are encrypted in the sender's browser and returned to us directly by email as an encrypted attachment.
- Google Fonts: fonts loaded from Google's CDN. Google may log font requests per their privacy policy.
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising technology on this website.
